The Future Homes Standard will set new requirements for energy efficiency and carbon emissions in new homes from 2025. It represents the biggest change to Part L and Part F in a generation, requiring homes to produce 75-80% less carbon emissions than current standards.
Key changes include enhanced fabric performance, low-carbon heating systems, improved ventilation requirements and updated SAP calculations. All new builds will need to be "zero carbon ready" with no further retrofit required.
